  6. Description:
  7. Glyphix has been tested with DR DOS 6.0 and it exhibits the same
  8. symptoms that it did with DR DOS 5.0, ie. "GX" mode still does
  9. not work with the HP LaserJet. It is recommend that end-users
  10. change to GXL or GXS to start Glyphix.
  11.  
  12. If the you are using a Hewlett-Packard Series II, IID, or IIIP,
  13. you should be aware of the following restrictions:

  15. GLYPHIX laser font package for WordPerfect 5.1 has three modes of
  16. operation.  The user can choose any of the three modes when
  17. starting the application.  Two of the modes are successful with
  18. DR DOS.  The third is not.
  19.  
  20. These two modes run well under DR DOS...
  21.  
  22. GXL.EXE
  23. This is the fastest mode, but it requires the most
  24. memory.  (Which is no problem when you use DR DOSs
  25. memory features).  Takes 110K of memory & can print
  26. 3-120 point sizes.  Allows background printing.
  27.  
  28. GXS.EXE
  29. The smaller memory version of GXL.EXE.  Allows you to
  30. print up to 60 point, and takes approximately 59K of
  31. memory.  Allows background printing.

  34. The following mode is not compatible with DR DOS.  It will
  35. not print correctly on the HP printers listed above.

  37. GX.EXE
  38. Requires about 26K of memory.  Also requires over 500K
  39. of disk space to create a temp print file.

  41. If the customer is using a Hewlett-Packard Deskjet, the Deskjet
  42. driver for Glyphix has no problems.
